How to Avoid Freezer Burn on Ice Cream in One Step
I love ice cream, especially with great toppings. What I hate about ice cream is freeze burn. Today I’m going to show you a quick trick on how to avoid freezer burn on ice cream. All you need is some plastic wrap! I like Glad Cling Wrap, plastic wrap is one of the things I spurge on because the frustration of getting the wrap caught in itself is a headache.
This is a pint of Talenti Gelato after about two weeks of not touching it (as hard as it was).
Gross right? To prevent this from happening again this is what I should have done. Take a sheet of plastic wrap and place it over the ice cream, creating a “seal.” Don’t be afraid to really get in there! Air is what causes freezer burn, so you want to have the least amount of air possible in the container.
Lastly replace the lid on the ice cream!
